Hey y'all,
The Board often gets questions as to WHY timing is the way it is for either conference registration or Call for Papers. Here's a peek into that process:
Call For Papers
-Proposals accepted October 1-November 30 (gives 2 full months, also time after national conference to be inspired & get through Thanksgiving)
-Presentation Selection Committee will have all submissions prior to Dec 8 (one week allowed for VP to give committee last minute proposal info), and will submit ratings no later than December 23. (can be given info as it is submitted, gives 2 full weeks to finalize scores)
-Presenters will have acceptance letter no later than January 6. (gives time to arrange sessions and allows 2 weeks because of holidays)
-The schedule will be available to be posted to website prior to Jan 13 (gives week to make edits and post to website prior to end of early bird)
Registration
Early Bird: November 12 - February 2 (so that it is open prior to national conference)
Regular: February 3 - March 6 (to line up with room block deadline and give 3 weeks to finalize materials)
